museums and Web 2.0 - The contours of the departure

The Internet is changing. Makes itself felt everywhere a departure that is marked by the rapid success of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Departure and success but are defined not only by specific technologies, but represent much more fundamental issues for new Dispositions in culture, communication and mediation. The platforms of the Social Web is no longer define parallel worlds or virtual systems in which to move exclusively to young target groups. They are assigned to the real world and demand for the culture is participation. The aim is for the institutions to a new openness, transparency, authenticity, networking and an "audience development". For the "Visitor" is about new forms of active participation and direct interaction. More and more cultural institutions to realize this departure, but have difficulties to evaluate it correctly, or even taking the initiative to be. The paper attempts to define the contours of this new beginning and aspects show the shift.
